Robin E. Russell
Ms. Russell conducts senior-level search assignments for clients ranging from the Fortune 500 to entrepreneurial ventures in the development of world-class leadership teams, and has significant experience in the recruitment of executives at the C-suite level (CEO, COO, CMO, CFO) as well as board-level assignments.
Her retail clients include hardlines and softlines specialty stores, department stores and mass merchants, supermarket and specialty food retailers, and multi-channel and internet-based retailers across the country.
Ms. Russell was a Senior Client Partner with Korn/Ferry International, a global executive search firm, from 1998 to 2009. Prior to that, she was Vice President in the Dallas and Los Angeles offices of a boutique search firm serving the retail and consumer industries. Before entering executive search, Ms. Russell worked in the retail industry, with 12 years of senior-level marketing experience at Zale Corporation and Neiman Marcus. Her accomplishments include developing winning credit marketing strategies, new market expansion strategies, customer acquisition, leveraging lifetime customer value, and database target marketing.
Ms. Russell holds an MBA from Southern Methodist University, as well as a BA (magna cum laude). She also holds diamond grading certification from the Gemological Institute of America.
In 2001, while working at Korn/Ferry, Ms. Russell and her husband Dave Grooters bought a 50-acre parcel of land in Oregon's Willamette Valley and began planting pinot noir grapes. In 2004 they moved to Oregon and soon opened a full-scale winery. The result is Carlton Cellars, an artisanal winery making award-winning Oregon Pinot Noir and other varietals.
From 2009 to 2011 Ms. Russell worked in the marketing end of their business full-time. Carlton Cellars is now fully integrated with a retail tasting room and national distribution. However, Ms. Russell deeply missed the search profession. Robin Russell LLC is her new company, uniting her experience and passion with a new vision of service to clients that's fast, result-driven, and full of heart.
